Jerad, bless his heart... he's so patient with my crazy antics of Christmas. After a hard day of work he was soooo helpful in putting up the tree, singing Christmas Carols, (per Pandora on my phone) hanging ornaments, and even fixing a broken Barbie ornament. That boy.... he's so sweet. He also was so inquisitive to the meaning of all my ornaments... [I love to have meaning to every ornament hanging on the tree].
Each year, I enjoy pulling out the little objects and remembering the "story" behind it. Sentimental.
My favorite this year: Rubber Boot that I received from my friend Jess (who now lives in CO). We all wore fashionable rubber boots when we worked at the Airport for Enterprise. WE LIVED IN THESE BOOTS. Brought back funny memories of our times together and organizing the car lot into the wee hours of the morning in 3 feet of snow.
Anyway, you get the point...

The wreath that I created with our "vintage" nautical garland we found in Grafton, IL
Now on to wontons and wishbones....
Saturday we had Thanksgiving with Jerad's family..... (I have never been so full from a meal in my life...that I can remember anyway)
Again, Jerad........ bless his heart. I was frantically trying to throw together a sweet potato casserole, sausage wontons, a caramel apple dessert, and stuffing when I realized that we forgot to get the vanilla pudding for the dessert that had to sit in the fridge for 5 hours.............well........this was at 3pm. Dinner was at 6. (enter high speed come apart here)
Jerad, his usual sweet/ caring self grabbed his keys a ran to Kroger like lightening. When he walked in the door I was elbow deep in smashed sweet potatoes and crushed corn flakes- STRESSED! That boy...... handed me 3 boxes of vanilla pudding and pulled a dozen red roses from behind his back. I immediately start to tear up b/c I was so caught up in the moment of how genuine and loving he is. He knows just what to do at the perfect time.... all the time. This washed away all the stress of being late, having a dessert that isn't finished, and sweet potatoes that wont smash.
As you could probably imagine, Jerad took over the smashing potato station and achieved a PERFECT casserole. In addition, he put together each and every sausage wonton that were a HUGE hit for Thanksgiving appetizers!
(Please notice Bella's wink in this picture....)
Wontons...all around!
Here are a couple pictures from Thanksgiving with the Busch's. (We missed you Keith and Brookie!)
We all know that Thanksgiving isn't complete until someone breaks the wishbone.... here is the outcome of Jerad and my battle with the wishbone...... you guessed it...... Jerad won. (there must be a trick to that thing....seriously) We had a great time at our first Thanksgiving together, and I am thankful for every minute of my wonderful life that I am lucky enough to post about! :)
2 more Thanksgivings to go.... 1 on Thursday and 1 on Friday.... stay tuned for more memories and photo's! Hope you enjoy your time with your family and make sure to take some time to think about all the amazing things in your life. Very important to keep in mind this time of year! :)
