Hello all! I'm sorry for the lack of posts lately.... I have been a busy bee with preparing for Christmas. I feel like I have 72 projects going on as presents, and I have a long way to go.... but we'll get there.
Anyway, I have a lot to catch you up on.... starting alllllllll the way back to Thanksgiving again. Well, the 25th of November (Thanksgiving) was terrible weather... rained the WHOLE day with a touch of snow in the afternoon. Jerad and I made plans to meet his Grandpa Angelo at Hardee's in Belleville for coffee. You see, Hardee's is the only place open for coffee talk time on Thanksgiving.... all the usual spots (McDonalds) are closed. There is a strict schedule that he sticks to for this daily routine. It goes from the McDonalds in Swansea to the Mickey Dee's down by the fairgrounds.... depends on the day which one he meets his "coffee crew" at. It is adorable and he has a large group of friends that meet every day to discuss the usual things.... weather, grand kids, holidays, etc. Keeps them young and happy! :)
Anyway, as I was saying.... rain. Blah. I spent 45 minutes getting ready to only walk out in the rain. HOWEVER, right before I walked out, decided I was going to make use of the "crocs" bag that has been sitting on the credenza since who knows when..... see below.... perfect rain bonnet!
Jerad and Grandpa Angelo.
From coffee time to turkey time.....
Thanksgiving with the Gellner side of the family brings traditions of Grandma Gellner's potato balls and Aunt April's homemade whipped cream! We started a new tradition this year of Skyping those who cannot travel home to be with us on Thanksgiving. Here are a few pictures of Aunt Connie and Uncle Ken being able to see everyone instead of passing around the cordless phone. We did miss you Meyer Family...... :)
Lemmon's are home for Thanksgiving!
The holidays are for giving "thanks" to God for all you have at this very moment. You will never have a moment just like you had a second ago. Make the most of them.
I attempted to upload the dinner prayer that my Grandpa Lemmon said before our Thanksgiving dinner, however I was unsuccessful. (I'm still a rookie at this) But, the point being I will never have this dinner prayer again... just like it was. BUT I must say, I hope to have many more dinner prayers with my family together. I am thankful that I was able to capture this on video to watch as many times as I want. My grandpa's prayers bring tears to my eyes.... I don't know when I will never get to hear these words again, but for now I will cherish each and every one. <3
Instead, here is a picture of my Grandpa and Grandma Lemmon. Very in Love, don't leave each other's side!
When the Lemmon's are in town we always tend to end up in PJ's playing games. Makes for a very cheap, relaxing night! Bud came to visit as well, so it added to the comedy of the game "Things." This is a game much like Apples to Apples where you have a subject and everyone has to write something to do with that subject..... example from our game: Things you shouldn't do to your teacher...........you can imagine the answers that were given with this crew....
Finally.... this was the first (and maybe last) year that we have ever done Black Friday. Let me tell you that the people who wait in line for 18 hours in the cold (?!???!!) to buy a TV at half price are somethin...........WoW. You have to have a game plan when you go into something like that. Jerad and I walked into this 4am morning completely blind! Granted, we did get MANY good deals on items throughout the store...but the 3 hour wait in the check out line was a little draining, to say the least. Purchase of the day: Firepit for our patio! $29.99.
Before entering Target.... this is at 3:50am. (yikes!)
We will never be the people with the walkie talkies.... BUT we will be more prepared if we go next year.
Tis the season!! Happy Holidays!!
