We had very nice weather on Friday (high 70's), Jerad and I decided that we were going to take the boat for one more run. To our dismay, Saturday morning came with rain/mist and chilly weather. :( After much deliberation we decided we HAD to do something outside because Jerad had just gotten home from a 5 day business trip which consisted of driving 1700 miles across the states of Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri. without cruise control. Needless to say, he was STIR CRAZY! (likely so).
After loading up the canoe in Josh's truck, and missing Kelly, (she had shopping plans with her mom) we headed down to the scatters to check out the boy's duck hunting spots. I sat in the middle of the canoe on a cooler while both the boys paddled us out into the swamp waters.... really, it was swampy- green stuff floating on the top of the water. BUT, it was a very fun time, and great for pictures! (We missssssed you Kelly!!! )
As we were out perusing the swamp lands of Oakwood Bottoms, THE SUN CAME OUT! Immediate reaction.... BOAT TIME!
Series of events: paddled back to the truck, loaded up the canoe, wished Josh good luck on his afternoon hunt, showers, jackets, annnnnnnd LAKE!
Last run of the season. Let me just say that it was warm in the sun, but the wind was cold! It was in the mid 50's. (We managed to get some cute pictures for our Christmas cards as well! Be on the look out for those...in your mailbox soon!) Hope everyone had a great weekend! <3
